I am a born and raised Kentuckian. I grew up on a farm in Henderson with horses, cattle and a large pond for swimming and fishing. As a child, I lived on the basketball court and golf course.

Using a spot on the golf team as a gateway west, I attended the University of California, San Diego where I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I obtained my medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, which is where Cady and I met. We went south together, where I completed an internal medicine residency at Tulane University. It is in New Orleans where I began to learn, and love the nuance and art of medicine.

After completing an extra year as Chief Residents at Tulane, Cady and I returned home to Kentucky. In 2018, we founded Downtown Drs. Brown.

I went to medical school because I wanted a career that would allow me an opportunity to have an important impact on people’s lives. I chose the field of primary care because it allows an intimate physician-patient relationship. Downtown Drs. Brown was created to provide a venue to treat patients the way we feel they should be treated: with complete attention and compassion, and no eye on the clock.
