We all are involved in a variety of relationships, but have we been taught how to have healthy and satisfying relationships?  From our spouses to siblings to co-workers, conflict can arise in any relationship and stressful relationships can negatively impact every area of our lives. Join us virtually to learn how to navigate difficult conversations and enhance our relationships with proven tools and techniques based on the research of Dr. John Gottman. Dr. Gottman is listed as one of the Top 10 Most Influential Therapists of the past quarter-century by the Psychotherapy Networker and is author or co-author of over 200 published academic articles and more than 40 books.

Lunch & Learn: Healthy Eating Habits – January 29 at 12 pm

With the dawn of the new year, many people are looking for ways to focus on healing themselves. Laura Brooks, an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and a Certified Professional Chef, will discuss how at least half of American adults have at least one preventable chronic disease related to poor eating habits. She will also discuss ways to prevent these diseases through healthy eating habits. Like always, a healthy lunch will be provided. Sweat with the Docs – January 25 at 11 am

We are switching up our Walk with the Docs this month and partnering with Surgery on Sunday at their annual Sweat 4 Surgeries event. Sweat 4 Surgeries is a fun, 25-hour community fitness event that will help you kick-start a healthy 2020 AND assist uninsured and medically under-served individuals across Kentucky.

Join us on January 25 at 11 am for a great work out for an even better cause. All abilities are welcome as most exercises can be modified. Space is limited. Please RSVP to Davis (dmeyer@downtowndrsbrown.com) so we know you are coming. We’ll also be covering our patients’ workout fee. We hope to see many of you there as we support a fantastic local non-profit.

Walk with the Docs – December 11 at 12 pm

We will be enjoying another Walk with the Docs next Wednesday, December 11, at 12 pm. Just like always, we’ll start from our office (535 West Second Street) and do a casual 2-2.5 mile loop around downtown lasting about 45 minutes. The cold won’t keep us from enjoying this activity with you!

Lunch & Learn: Signs of Burnout – November 20 at 12 pm

We live in a fast-paced, demanding world. How do we know if it is all too much? Licensed massage therapist, wellness expert and owner-creator of CenteredLauren Higdon, will come talk with us about signs of burnout and how to identify them in ourselves. She will also speak about means for alleviating burnout through self-care. As daylight hours wane and the holiday season approaches, what better time to evaluate if we are giving enough to ourselves as we continue to give so much to everyone around us?! Lunch will be served.

The relationship between food and health is increasingly clear. Learn how responsibly raised food is medicine, and how to stay away from temptations lurking behind those shiny packages.
