Lunch & Learn
Pilates 101 – March 12 at 12 pm
Are you interested in improving your posture, strength, and balance to move more effortlessly each day? Joseph Pilates promised these benefits in addition to “restoring physical vitality, invigorating the mind and elevating the spirit” when he originally developed “Contrology” or the practice we now call Pilates. Please join us to learn about the art and science of Pilates, from a 2nd Generation Pilates teacher, Robert Turner, owner of Breathe studio in Lexington. Robert was in the Marine Corps and worked for over a decade in the University of Kentucky Sports Medicine Rehabilitation Center before opening Breathe. Kindly RSVP to Davis Meyer to let us know if you can make it! A healthy lunch will be provided. Please note, this is not an exercise class and is for informational purposes only.

Run/walk with the docs

These are growing in popularity so we’re going to try two this month!
Want to get some exercise or maybe pick your doctor’s brain in a casual setting? Join the DDB team for a morning run/walk a few times a month. We’ll start from the front of our office (535 West Second Street). You can pick a 1.5-3 mile loop to participate. All abilities are welcome and encouraged!

1/23/19: Healthful Eating Lunch and Learn: With a new year comes a new opportunity to start your health journey. Come learn how to make a New Year’s resolution that you will keep by learning how to set yourself up for success with healthful eating. Registered Dietitian, Emily McGlone, will cover the basic steps in setting goals for your health by looking at the various connections between diet and other factors. Meal plan guides and recipes will be provided! Lunch will be served.

12/11/18: Mindfulness Lunch & Learn: The holiday season is fun, but can be emotional and stressful. Research suggests that practicing mindful movement and deep breathing can reduce the production of stress hormones, relieve muscle tension, and improve emotion regulation. Join us to explore simple daily practices that will help you stay present and grounded during the days to come. The session will run from 12-1 pm on Tuesday, December 11 at our office.Erin Royal, a Licensed Psychological Practitioner, will guide us through this talk. Refreshments will be served.
